An independent charity located in the Vale of the White Horse, providing activities that promote recovery for people who experience significant mental health difficulties
JOB VACANCY
Outreach Project Initiator
Six-month fixed-term contract | part-time | home-based with local travel
Root & Branch is an independent mental health charity based at Westmill Farm. With funding from The National Lottery Community Fund, we are developing a new outreach project to reach people and communities who may experience barriers to accessing mental health and wellbeing support.
We are looking for an Outreach Project Initiator to help us get this new project off the ground.
The role:
Working with our Centre Manager and wider team, you will research effective approaches to community outreach, develop relationships with local organisations, and identify opportunities for Root & Branch to deliver activities within the community.
Our particular focus will be on young adults aged 18–25, people experiencing poverty, the local sanctuary-seeking community and other communities that may be less likely to seek support for their mental health and wellbeing.
You will:
-
Build relationships with local organisations including health services, social prescribers, charities, food banks, and community organisations.
-
Identify opportunities and suitable activities for outreach work.
-
Help establish new outreach groups and ways of engaging participants.
-
Work with the Root & Branch team to develop appropriate participant referral and enrolment processes.
-
Develop a practical monitoring and evaluation framework to measure the project's impact and our commitments to The National Lottery Community Fund.
-
Help develop appropriate procedures for safe and effective outreach working.

We are looking for someone who is confident working independently, enjoys building relationships and can take a new idea and turn it into something practical.
